the challenge
How we grew brand equity for a food rescue nonprofit
INDUSTRY
Environment
objective
A playful approach to a serious problem
Waste Less is a Salt Lake City-based nonprofit dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing the 600,000 tons of food wasted in Utah each year. They reached out to our team to develop a fresh new logo and brand as they work to better communicate their mission and approach to key donors and the public. In particular, they needed support in creating a brand identity that fused their bold approach to a serious problem with a playful tone and community-oriented values.
SOLUTION
Spirited visuals and sincere messaging
By working through our proprietary brand dimensions tool, it became clear that Waste Less needed more emphasis on the climate aspects of their work and a more unified visual approach that reflected its hopeful and bright personality. Through a concert of spirited visuals and sincere messaging, we were able to create an iconic look for this growing organization. The result is a visually appealing brand that plays with color and shape and a clever brand voice that reinforces the organization’s mission through language.
